We want to share some information and pictures that you may find helpful for your show/event setups. Over the years we have tried many sample display setups and have found the very best to be our current wooden boxes lined with Styrofoam (contact me for details). We have just recently gone to a two lid approach on our 8oz deli container lids that is a huge success. The first lid has a triangle shaped hole cut into it with a box cutter. Snap that lid down tight on the sample, then have a second lid with name of sample on it just laying loosely on top. It keeps the samples much colder, cleaner and keeps the lids from getting all messed up with constant cleaning required. Keeping your pretzel sticks in shaker jars keeps hands off of them and is much more sanitary. At a recent large 3 day event, we had a County Health Official tell us that we had the best setup she had seen. Lots of good customer feedback also, they greatly appreciate sanitary, cold samples to taste.
This summer is literally flying by and I hope everyone is having a great one! It will soon be time for all
of the Fall Shows to begin and now is the time to prepare. Let us know how we can help.
We have one new dessert mix (Mocha Cappuccino) that is now ready for ordering, it is AWESOME!
We will have one new dip mix (Spicy Spinach) ready to ship by the end of next week.
Other new items that are nearing completion; Strawberry Cheesecake dessert mix and Caramelized Onion & Roasted Garlic Infused Party Spread mix.
We are also working on a Lemon dessert mix and a Peanut Butter dessert mix as well as a Pina Colada
dessert mix, along with several new snack dip mixes. ALL COMING SOON!
Our initial feedback from our two new Party Cracker Seasoning mixes has been great, I think these will
be great sellers especially during the Fall Holiday party/entertainment season.
I have had several questions and comments about dessert mixes. Many new distributors seem to be hesitant about starting off with dessert mixes. I can tell you from personal experience that 20-25% of your sales will come from dessert mixes year around. Women especially love to have good quick dessert mixes on hand and the guys love to eat them once they are prepared, LOL! Pumpkin Pie continues to be our #1 seller year around, outselling all others 2 to 1. We actually had a lady customer recently that said we needed to change the name of it from Pumpkin Pie to OMG, lol.

A suggestion for those of you that are just getting started, Farmer's Markets and upscale Flea Markets are great places to get your name and product out in front of the public. They are inexpensive venues that don't require an application and a big outlay of cash and they give you a great place to gain experience and work out the “kinks” in your business.
Remember also, two great ways to increase your summertime sales are home parties and fundraising events. Dip and dessert mixes are a great change from the normal candy bar and candle fundraisers that many churches, schools and civic organizations run to raise money for their groups. Home parties make a great way for people to share great food and make some money at the same time and work well as an add-on sale to other home party programs. And summertime events such as picnics, cookouts and family reunions are a great time to introduce your tasty products.

all of us that do shows, I learn something new many times when I see other displays.
One othe Cappuccino dessert mix. The Spicy Spinach is a savory blend of spinach, onion, garlic, green onion,
green bell pepper and just a kick of Jalapeno. The Mocha Cappuccino is sinfully good and just the
aroma will make your mouth water. We have also added microwave pork skins to help you expand your
product line. We will soon be adding a Seafood Boil Mix and a BBQ Sauce Mix.
We have 3 new mixes that will be available for ordering beginning the week of Aug 26th. First we have
an all-time favorite, a great “old fashioned” French Onion dip mix that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Then we have a Habanero Wildfire dip mix for your customers that like to turn up the heat. Then we
have a Strawberry Cheesecake dessert mix that will delite the tastebuds with a rich flavor that will have
you thinking you are eating fresh strawberries.
We have had several questions about making your own product labels. I have tried to field these
questions the best I could because there are so many different options available depending on available
software programs, printers, personal taste, etc. One of our newest distributors, Gene & Sally Crews of
Winston_Salem, NC. have perfected the label making system with the help of www.avery.com. Gene
says that with a little bit of “trial and error”, you can easily make a professional looking label on this
website and they give you the ability to save these right on their website and print them as you need
them. You can also download them to your computer. Gene says you need to use the “Tall Postcard”
template and that will allow you to print 4 labels on an 8 ½ X 11 cardstock. And the best thing is, IT's
FREE! Let me know if I can be of help with more information.
I would like to congratulate Reba Corder of Leander, TX. for recently being recognized for her “Best
Display” recognition at a July 4th event. Her display set-up is pictured on our Facebook page. Well
done, Reba! I would like to encourage each of you again to post your pictures from your events on our
Facebook page or email them to me and I will be glad to post them for you. These are very helpful to
all of us that do shows, I learn something new many times when I see other displays.
One other question I receive a lot is concerning sampling of the mixes. First and foremost, your
primary concern needs to be to have a very professional, sanitary and cold display of samples. Having
your tables elevated to a bar height (36-38”) is very important for ease of sampling and to keep “little
hands” away. You also want to keep your samples covered and dispense your pretzels, crackers and
cookies in a way that people's hands do not touch any of the products. I also can't stress enough to
make sure you “sample” all of your products that you have available for sale. The products will sell
themselves, but only if people can try them. It's a little more work, but it does pay off. And use lots of
And one last favor to ask. With this very busy “Fall Season” approaching, please remember to give us
as much lead time on your orders as possible. We will really appreciate that. We wish each of you a

DIP MIX BUSINESS INFORMATION & SUGGESTIONS
I recommend using 8oz clear plastic deli containers for your samples. They come with an airtight fitting lid and they are a good size, depth-wise, to keep your sample cold. Each batch of dip mix that you prepare will fill up 2 of these deli containers which will give you a backup at the event. These deli containers are available at any restaurant supply store. I buy mine at Sam’s Club:
I like to use the 6ft foldup tables, they foldup compact and easy to handle. I recommend putting leg extensions on them to bring them up to a bar height (36-38”). That makes it a very comfortable height for the customers to shop and keeps little hands off the table. Extensions are easy to make with short lengths of 1” Schedule 40 PVC pipe with caps, I made mine 12” long. (pictures below)
HOW TO SAMPLE
I use stick pretzels in “shaker jars” for sampling the snack dips. I use bowls and tongs for animal crackers and graham crackers for sampling the dessert dips. Customers appreciate you having these so that hands are not touching the pretzels and crackers. (see pictures below)
It is very important to have lots of signage and have your pricing very clear for your customers. (see pictures below)
Thanks to the research and help of one of our distributors, Gene Crews, from Winston_Salem, NC. We now have an easy cost effective way of making your own labels.
Go to www.avery.com and they have a link where you can design, save and print all of your labels online. You need to use their template for “tall postcards” which will give you 4 labels for a sheet of 8 ½” X 11” card stock paper. Gene said that with a little bit of trial and error he was able to upload pictures and or clip art to the label designs and you can pick the type and size of font that you want to use. I have attached some pictures that Gene sent to me of his labels. He used a 24 size font for his Dip name, a 10 size font for the medium size lettering and a 7 size font on the back of the label for the instructions, ingredients, etc.
Just a word of caution, please proof read all of your labels to make sure you have all the information correct; ie. Package weight, ingredients, instrutions, etc.

Well, Fall is officially here! We are half way through the show schedule, the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. But, this is prime time for your dip mix business. People are getting geared up for Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays and all the work, group and family activities that go along with this very active busy season. In addition to the craft fairs and festivals, there are great income opportunities with home parties and fundraisers. I have attached some Fundraising paperwork to this email that we use and you can feel free to tailor it to your operation. The winter months are a great time to approach schools, churches and civic organizations about Fundraisers for the Springtime.
Since the last newsletter, we have rolled out one more new dip mix, Chili Cheese Bacon, which is already a huge success. Some of our other recent “new” flavors, Habanero Wildfire & Wasabi Ranch, continue to do extremely well. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions on new flavors and new products. We are currently working on a line of Rubs & Seasonings for grilling for next year and would like to have your input.
I always continue to get many questions about our “top sellers”. I am sometimes reluctant to list our top sellers because it really can vary with different parts of the Country. I encourage you to try them all and see which ones perform best for you and your area. Here is our top 10 best dip mix sellers for our area;

And don't forget the bread dipping oils, they are not huge sellers but great add-on sales. We recently sold 42 packages at a $2,000.00 show, that's an extra $140.00 worth of sales.
I hope this information will be helpful to you, but as I said, you need to do some experimenting with your area. The key is to have a big variety, I usually sample 20 different flavors of dips, the 2 bread dipping oils and 8 or 9 dessert mixes. The bigger variety will move a lot of your $10 sales up to $20 sales, It will also reduce the chances of you running out of flavors.

WOW, where has 2013 gone? Seems just like yesterday that we were getting ready for that first show of the year in March and this weekend I have just finished unloading the trailer from the last show of the year. We want to personally thank each and everyone of you for being a part of our Cherry Orchard Foods Family and we look forward to working with each of you to have a very successful 2014!

We are already busy working on many new products for 2014. We are continuing to work on a line that will be called Infused Party Spreads & Cheeseball mixes. These are designed to be mixed with cream cheese and your favorite beverage (juice, wine, etc.) to make a delightful spread or cheeseball. We are also working on several new snack dip, dessert and bread dipping oil mixes. Look for us to roll out at least 2 new dip flavors, 1 dessert flavor and 1 dipping oil mix during the month of January.
And in our biggest undertaking, we are working on a complete line of All Natural, No Preservatives, Gluten Free Rubs, Seasonings and Grilling Spices to enhance any cooking experience. Look for these to start rolling out in the Feb/Mar timeframe. As always, we welcome your suggestions and feedback.

We continue to field many questions from you about fund-raising programs, different types of Shows
and inventory levels. I will attempt to address some of these here, but please email or call me with any specific questions you may have.
In doing fundraisers, Schools are great, but don't forget Churches and Civic organizations. Most everyone that is doing fundraisers are looking for something different than the old standbys like candy bars and candles, LOL. The mixes work great, especially if you can do a kickoff taste testing for them. I have attached a few documents that we use in our fundraising program for your reference. Look over what I'm sending and let me know what questions you have.
On the shows, don't let crowd size intimidate you. It depends on what "kind" of crowd it is. I have not personally done any RV/Boat shows, but the 10k figure at that kind of an event that I was recently asked about will probably equate to about $700 - $1000 in sales for a one day show. That makes for a pretty busy
day,but nothing you can't handle. You have to remember that a lot of those people are there to look at RV's and Boats, nothing else, LOL.
We just did a large 3 day Christmas show that draws about 25k for the 3 days with over 200 vendors and I did about $2000. Of course there were 3 other dip vendors there, but we have the best products ( you would expect me to say that, right?). Just try to build your inventory the best you can, as you can, and with experience you will be ready for any type of show. If you can send me some pictures of your setup, I might be able to give you some pointers. It really helps to have two of you in your booth, it really increases sales. Having a large variety also increases sales. If you are selling like I do; $3.95 each, 3 for $10.00 and 7 for $20.00, by sampling at least 15 - 20 dip mixes you will convert a lot of your $10 sales into $20 sales. Same thing with your desserts, try to sample at least 7 or 8 and be willing to let the customers mix and match dips and desserts to drive up sales. It's also good to have a lot of signage so that customers can see your pricing, etc. Customers also like and appreciate recipe ideas, such as using the dip mixes as a baked potato topper, salad dressing, cheeseball or as a packet of seasoning for recipes like meatloaf, etc. Hope some of this helps, let me know how I can help.

I'm sure everyone is like me and looking forward to Spring. It's not suppose to get down into the
single digits in NC, LOL! Most of the Nation has been hit with a very cold winter so far and it certainly
does not help in the marketing of our mixes. This time of year can be a very productive time though, if
you are looking to really expand your business for 2014. This is a great time to start talking with people
about fund-raising programs for their organizations for the Spring. And of course, this is the time to
start booking all of your Spring Shows/events. I do receive a lot of questions about shows/events and I
will try to address some of them here.
A Google search for craft shows and festivals should turn up a lot of possibilities for you to start. Also
look into large churches and schools in your area as well as Farmer's Markets and possibly Flea
Markets, if they are “upscale”. I know that sometimes because of budget restraints, we need to look at
the cheaper booth fees, but remember that many times the booth fees are a good indicator of potential
sales. I have done shows where the booth fee is $25 and had sales of $300 and I have done shows
where the booth fee was $190 and had sales of $2000. Try to focus on shows with a good track record
that draw large crowds and try to get your application in early enough to get a good location and
preferably on a corner where you can be exposed to traffic on two sides. I always set up an “L” shape
on a corner space so that I can get as many people around my setup as possible. If you can create a
crowd, you will draw a crowd and people will buy your products if you can get them to put it in their
mouths. You want to “create” a spectacle, LOL! Have lots of signage and know your products.

We have rolled out 3 new products so far for 2014. Two new dip mixes; Parmesan Herb and Mexican
Fiesta. The Mexican Fiesta really brings out that great flavor of the Southwest without the “heat” and
the Parmesan Herb is just a really lively fresh taste of mixed herbs and Parmesan cheese. We have also
introduced the first of our new line of products that we call “FARM HOUSE” Products. This first one is
called Farm House Chili Mix. This mix has a “medium heat” and each package makes 2 large batches.
The wholesale cost is $2.00 and we suggest a retail of $4.95. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and
look for the roll-out of many more “Farm House” products over the next two months.
One last topic that I have received several questions on is “accepting credit cards”. Personally, we use
Square (www.square.com), I have been with them for about 3 years now and have never had a problem.
They provide a free card reader(s), have no contract or minimum fees and just charge a flat 2.75% fee
on each transaction. You tie the account to your checking account and your sales are deposited into
your account the next business day. They also have a very good and helpful website where you can
track all of your transactions. I know PayPal has one that is similar at 2.7% but I have heard a few
negative comments about them. There are several others on the market now, so I would just suggest
that you do some research. They are so easy to use and will definitely increase your sales and pay for
itself. Most people today do not carry much cash, so accepting plastic is a real plus for your business. If
you carry a large variety of products and accept credit cards you will add sales and turn a lot of $10.00
sales into $20, $30, & $40 sales.

As I stand here in our shop looking out the window at the sunshine and the temperature gauge
approaching 50 degrees, gives me hope that Winter may soon be over, LOL! I know that most of you
around the Country have had a much more severe Winter than usual and can't wait for it to end, just
like us. The good news is, the calendar doesn't lie, Spring will soon be here!
The work begins now. Now is the time to book those Spring shows/events (our 1st one is Mar 29&30)
and fund-raisers and get ready to have your most successful sales year ever. We stand ready to help you
accomplish that. We want to be a part of your business Team, please use us accordingly to your benefit.
We continue to develop new products and have many more in the planning stages. Since our last
newsletter, we have rolled out 2 new “FARM HOUSE” brand products; Dixie Dust & Steer Dust.
Dixie Dust is a superb gourmet quality pork rub and seasoning that is sure to please any taste-buds. It is
a Gluten Free and All Natural product available in a 4oz and 8oz package. The 4oz wholesales for
$2.00 with a suggested retail of $4.95. The 8oz is $3.25 wholesale and retails for $7.95. Our FARM
HOUSE Steer Dust is a unique blend of high quality spices that gives you a beef rub and seasoning that
customers will keep coming back for, excellent on beef brisket and beef ribs. It is also Gluten Free and
All Natural and wholesales for $2.00 with a suggested retail of $4.95. Both products, like our FARM
HOUSE Chili Mix, are packaged in an attractive brown kraft paper bag with a product flier inserted for
We have also made a change to our wholesale ordering requirements that you should find helpful. We
still require a minimum order of 60 packages total and dip, dessert and dipping oil mixes will still need
to be ordered in quantities of 10 (i.e. 10,20,30...), however, you can now order all of our other products
by the each. Whether you need 1, 3, 16, or 101, that is fine. We hope that this new policy change will
allow you more flexibility in expanding your product lines without a major investment.
I continue to field many questions (which is great) about set-ups. I know that sometimes, due to budget
constraints, you will need to start small and grow your display into a larger, more professional set-up as
your budget allows. The most important aspects of your booth display are to have it look professional
and to be very sanitary. People will not buy from you if you do not meet these 2 basic requirements. An
“L” shaped display works best (see pic). I use 2 – 6ft tables and I have a 2' X 2' wooden structure that I
use to form my corner giving me 16ft of table frontage. The more table frontage you have, the more
people you can get in front of your product, the more people that sample your products, the more sales
you generate. As I like to say, you want to create a “crowd” around your tables, which draws a crowd to
see what is going on.....get the picture? LOL! Also, make sure you use extensions on your table legs to
raise them to “Bar” height. It is much more customer friendly and keeps “little hands” away from your
samples. Make sure to put your pretzels in closed containers for sampling (see pic), and if you are using
animal crackers and graham crackers, as I do, for sampling your desserts, put those in bowls and have
tongs available for the customer to use. Same with your bread dipping oils, have your cubed bread in a
bowl with tongs. Try to sample at least 15-20 dip mixes, 8-10 desserts, and both of the dipping oils.
The larger variety you have for people to sample will increase your sales and the size of your sales. A
professional set-up, well signed, sanitary with cold samples, and a friendly sales presentation, will lead
to much success.

COF March 2014 Newsletter
Well, our 1st show of the 2014 season is in the books and it was a great weekend 2 day event in Cheraw,
SC. Today the temperature was in the 70's, so I think that Spring may finally be here, LOL!
This new season with some new products has changed our top sellers list. As I always say, I will
preface this list with a word of caution because every show and every part of the Country can be
different. Our “Top 10” best selling dips this past weekend were: (1) BLT, as usual, (2) Wasabi Ranch,
(3) Spicy Spinach, (4) Smokin' Chipotle, (5) Chili Cheese Bacon, (6) Green Onion, (7) Country Bacon,
(8) Spicey Jalapeno, (9) A 5 way tie between Habanero Wildfire, Parmesan Herb, Garlic Lover, French
Onion, & Chili Con Queso. On the dessert side of the table we have a new #1 – Key Lime, (2) Pumpkin
Pie, (3) Amaretto, (4) English Toffee, (5) Mocha Cappucinno.
We had a very good first showing with our new Farm House Brand of Rubs & Seasonings, selling
about $100.00 worth. As always, the microwave pork skins were a big hit. So, that's the book on our
first show of the 2014 Season.
We have 3 new Farm House Brand products that will be available this week on the website; Steak,
Cajun, & Mesquite (see picture below). All 3 will wholesale for $2.50, with a suggested retail of $4.95
- $5.95. All 3 are great Gluten free, All Natural rubs and seasonings sure to be a hit with your
customers for the upcoming grilling season.
I have received several follow-up questions from last month's newsletter about our show “set-up”. I'm
going to include some pictures I took this weekend to help illustrate the narrative. I start off with 2 –
6foot tables that I raise to bar height with PVC pipe extensions. This is very important for your
customer's ease of shopping and to keep little hands away from your samples. Next, I assemble a 3
piece corner to connect the 2 tables and give me 8feet of table frontage on both sides of my “L” layout,
giving me a total table frontage of 16feet. I use 4 large clamps to secure the corner table to the 2 – 6foot
tables. You always want to try and get a corner space so you can do the “L” shape and give your
customers plenty of shopping space. This way, you can comfortably get 8-10 people around your booth
which will draw a crowd to see what is going on. I hope these pictures will be helpful, please send me
your specific questions if you still have some. This set-up, if you can accomplish it, will drive sales.
The products will sell themselves, but you have to get the people to your booth to sample.
At this time we are continuing to work on several new dip, dessert, and bread dipping oil mixes as well
as our Farm House Rubs & Seasonings line. As always, we encourage your suggestions and feedback

I have received several questions about the new display boxes that we are using to display our samples
at our shows. These boxes are made of wood with each box holding 5 samples. Each box contains
styro-foam inserts that have been cutout to hold a 16 oz. Plastic deli container which holds our ice. Our
top wooden pieces are cutout to receive the 8 oz. deli containers that I put our sample mixes in which
sets directly down on the ice below. The ice lasts all day and keeps the samples nice and cold all day.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a very prosperous Spring season. We endured the Winter that seemed like it would never end and now our Spring has just flown by before we could barely turn around. Our Spring shows have been very successful and I'm happy to report that our new Buffalo Bleu dip mix and our new Coconut Cream dessert mix have both been very well received by our retail customers and many of you.

I know many of you are having a very busy summer with farmer's markets and summer-time festivals and laying the groundwork for our busiest time of the year, the Fall season. Don't forget to get your applications for your events in early to get those great corner locations which will greatly increase your sales.

COF FALL 2014 NEWSLETTER
I hope this newsletter will find everyone doing well. We are into the full swing of the busy Fall Season
and we have a lot of news to share with you. First of all, we would like to recognize all of the NEW
Distributors that have joined the Cherry Orchard Foods Family since our last newsletter. We would like
for you to welcome Shirley Chung of Lithia, FL; Jessie Gaut in DeWitt, MI; April Graham in Franklin,
KY; and Bonnie Kilano in Detroit, MI. Welcome to ALL!Cherry Orchard Foods has just recently been
accepted by the NC Dept. of Agriculture into their Got to be NC – Goodness Grows in NC Program.
This Program will open many doors for us that will help in our future growth and development to help
our entire TEAM. We have also just opened our new retail shop at the Market Shoppes at the Triad
Farmers Market in Colfax, NC. If you are ever in the area or passing through the area, please stop by to
see us. Our newest dip mix, Veggie & Dill, has just rolled out this week. It is now available on the
website. This mix is a delicious blend of carrots, bell peppers, dill and parsley with a hint of sweetness
and a touch of smoke flavor. Since our last newsletter we have made several changes in our Farm
House Brand line of products. We have introduced new attractive packaging for our Chili Mix, Dixie
Dust and Steer Dust, as well as new pricing and a couple of new products, Curry Powder and French
Fry seasoning. We are currently working on a line of wine flavored party spreads and have just begun
work on an exciting new line of dip mixes that will incorporate locally grown North Carolina herbs that
have a very rich unique flavor as well as significant medicinal benefits – a great combination. Look for
more information to follow in the coming weeks on this new product line.We continue to get a few
questions periodically about dip mix ingredients as to Gluten Free, MSG and all-natural. I am working
on a complete list for you to bring you up to date on this information. I will send it out soon. Virtually
all of our mixes are Gluten Free and only about 3 mixes contain some MSG. Many of our mixes are allnatural.
Although you will receive a few questions about this from time to time, I can assure you from
my years of experience that 95% of your potential customers will not be concerned with this
information, although it is good product knowledge for you to have.

We had really hoped to be able to roll out our new “infused” wine spreads in time for the Holiday
Season, but we are still working out a few details on those. You can look for those to be introduced
sometime in January along with a new Crab dip we have been working on. We continue to work on
several new mixes and we always welcome your input on items and flavors that you would like to see,
so, let us hear from you.
We receive many good questions about display setup for shows/events, so I will try to address some of
that information here. If at all possible, I highly recommend that you rent a corner space so that you can
have an “L” shaped display setup that can be shopped on two sides by your customers. The more room
you have for customers around your display, the more of a “crowd” you will generate and the more
sales you will generate. When you create a crowd, you will draw a crowd. I have posted a lot of
information and pictures about this on our website under the “Distributor News” menu link. Next, you
want to have a very sanitary and professional looking display setup. Make sure you have your pretzels
in a closed “shake-out” type container as I have posted on the website, your customers will thank you.
If using open containers for animal cookies or graham crackers with your dessert samples, make sure
you have tongs for your customer's use. Also, make sure that all of your dip & dessert samples are
covered & “COLD” at all times. Uncovered samples will cost you a lot of potential sales, as people will
just walk away. And don't forget to have a lot of good signage. People like to have lots of information
and want to know your pricing without asking. Of course, a lot of them will still ask, LOL! I hope that

COF Spring 2015 Newsletter
Hello to all of our Cherry Orchard Foods' friends and family,
Where is 2015 going??? It is so hard to believe that this year is already 1/3 gone and Spring is more
than half over. It has been a very exciting start to 2015 here at Cherry Orchard Foods. We have rolled
out two new dip mixes so far, Crab-licious and Sassy Lime and we continue to work on several others.
We have also rolled out the first two flavors of our new Infused Party Spreads. These have seen instant
success with our distributors and both of the Spring shows that we have done so far.
The Spring shows are definitely here and our busy Spring season is well underway. We had our first
show March 28 & 29 in Cheraw, SC. and it was a huge success, our best year yet for that show. That is
a good indication of a great year. That was followed up by our Blessing of the Inlet Show in Murrells
Inlet, SC. on May 2nd. This too was a record setting year for us with this show. We always get a lot of
questions about top selling mixes for our shows, so here they are. Always remember that they can vary
from area to area around the Country.

showing at both shows. We will send out an update on the top sellers after this next weekend. We will
be doing a 3 day show at the NC State Fairgrounds with an attendance of over 80,000 last year.

We are still working on a list for our website where you can choose to have your contact information
listed as a source for our products. We get a lot of retail requests from around the Country and would be
more than happy to push these requests out to you. Just let us know that you want to be listed and what
contact information you would like to have included.
By now, I'm sure that most of you have your Spring and Summer shows lined up and it is a great time
to start booking those all-important Fall shows so that you can get prime locations. I highly recommend
that you reserve a corner location so that you can use an “L” shaped table set-up like I recommend. You
might want to go back through some of our older newsletters that are on the website under “Distributor
News” and read some of the information that I have posted as well as some of the photos that we have
posted there. The secret is to have as much table frontage as possible where you can draw a crowd. As I
say, a crowd draws a crowd and if you can get them to the table and put your product in their mouth,
you will have a sale. I highly recommend sampling at least 12-15 dip mixes or more and 6-8 dessert
mixes as well as all 3 dipping oil mixes. The bigger variety that you have to sample, you will turn a lot
of $10 sales into $20 sales or more. Typically desserts comprise about 25% of our show sales and the
dipping oils is about 10%, so they both pay off. Please let me know any specific questions that you may
have as it relates to shows and set-ups and I will be glad to help you with that. If you do not have a setup
for taking credit/debit cards, I highly recommend that you get that lined up. It will increase your
sales/profits considerably. We use Square.com and have for about 5 or 6 years, there are several on the
market now. We have had great success with Square and never had a problem. Let me know if you have
any questions on accepting credit/debit cards. And of course, always have a professional looking set-up
that is very customer friendly and sanitary with covered “cold” samples and lots of signage. I highly
recommend that you serve your pretzels in shaker jars so that they are not touched by your customers
and have your tables at “counter/bar” height so that your samples are not accessible to small children.
