Your Own Labeling
When you order our dip mixes, you can order them with or without our labels. It's the same price, either way. (We do not do private labeling.)
We suggest you apply your own labels for several very good reasons:
- So you can get all of the repeat business from your customers. Otherwise they will order from us since it will be our label on your package.
- Your own labels may also allow you to get into events that you otherwise wouldn't be able to get into. Some events require you to make your own products to be included in the show.
As an option, you can add another ingredient to our bags before you label them to create your own dip mixes. My book tells you how to do this. Just by adding a teaspoon of one inexpensive ingredient to our mixes creates your own line of mixes that qualifies as being home made. This ingredient only costs you one cent per package.
- If you are selling at a flea market or a farmer's market or anywhere where you are there week after week, printing the name of the flea market (or whatever) on your labels tells the customer where they bought the dip mixes and where to return to to get more. (Many times customers forget where they bought your products.) Again, you get the repeat business, not Cherry Orchard.
Your own labels are so easy to do. I will give you samples of our labels. You just copy the information (ingredients, net weight, etc.) onto your labels, add your own company name and have them printed and cut by your local printer, then staple them onto our zip lock bags of dip mix. It's so easy! You can do hundreds in an hour in front of the TV. However, if you would rather not bother with your own labels, that's fine too.

Let me give you some reference points as to how much money I have made with these dip mixes.
I can't say what you will make as a dealer for us. That depends on many variables. I can only say what I have made in the past. It mostly depends on how good and how big the events are that you get into. These numbers I'm about to show you are before I added additional food products to my roster of dip mixes and dessert mixes. (Now, I make much more money with these additional food items. You can too. More about that later.)

COUNTY FAIRS
$2,300.00
For the full run of the fair. This is the only fair I have done so far. It was a small county fair, not a big state fair. It was a 9 day run. Lots of hours, but most were weekdays when you wouldn't be making any money at all. I like people watching and the environment of fairs, so it wasn't bad for me. I know of a dip mix company that does 18 fairs every year, so they must have a better location than I did or they only do the big state fairs.
AVERAGE CRAFT SHOWS
Between $500.00 and $1100.00
Mostly high schools. Worst I ever did was $300.00 when I had many competitors and a terrible location. There are more craft shows in any major city than you could ever possibly do.
FESTIVALS
Between $1,350.00 for a 1 day event
and $3837.00 for a 3 day event
The bigger they are, the better they are. I have never done really large festivals in the hundreds of thousands of people. I can't even imagine what you could sell at one of those huge events.
FLEA MARKETS
Between $250.00 to $750.00 per weekend
Depends on what time of the year it is if you're in a cold weather climate, how much competition you have (if any), and how big the flea market is. This is a good starting point for your business because you can get into them at any time, but they are usually not a year round business unless you're in a warm weather climate or if the flea market is huge. I know of a lady in Florida who averages $800.00 per day at a big flea market - year round! Also, flea markets don't care whose label is on your packages. They don't care if you make the product or not. Easy to get into, inexpensive way to start your business.
FARMER'S MARKETS
Between $175.00 and $600.00
per day (four hours)
The more affluent the market or neighborhood, the better you will do. I averaged $175.00 per day at one farmer's market in a small rural town. Then I switched to a new nearby affluent neighborhood market and averaged about $400.00 per day. The first two weeks of the market, I did $900.00 per day because the market was brand new and did a lot of publicity. (Note: This past year during the recession, I did less than the figures stated above.)

These numbers may or may not be impressive to you, but I know of many dip mix companies that travel and do only the big craft shows and festivals throughout the country. If they don't do at least a minimum of $5000.00, they never go back. If you are willing to travel, you can make stupendous money even after paying hotel bills and travel expenses.
These traveling dip mix
companies average between
$5,000 and $12,000 per show!
My business is small potatoes compared to the traveling companies, but I don't want to travel. And I don't want to hire employees. (I do these events by myself.) It does show you, however, that there is a great deal of money to be made in the dip mix business.

DESSERT MIXES
For the dessert mixes, all you do is mix cream cheese and whipped topping (like Cool Whip) to the mix. These mixes make fabulous no-bake cheesecakes, cream pies, parfaits, bagel spreads, mousse, fruit dips and cake frosting. Many people just set a bowl of the product out with little graham cracker dipping sticks, mini vanilla wafers, ginger snaps, chocolate covered graham crackers or animal crackers and let people just help themselves. Absolutely scrumptious!
